Around 11:30PM March 31, 2001 I took Marina to the hospital. Since Gaby was our first-born, delivery took more time and was challenging. Gaby was born around 8:00AM 7lb 3oz, head 34cm, length 20.5 inches, 33.5 inches chest. She received her first bath and the nurse was shaking her a bit in order for the water to let the water drip (We thought it was funny. I remember that Gab's head was quite large in relation to the rest of her body. Gaby was very alert after 26 hours. I can remember that Marina and I were very excited to become parents. This special day changed our lives forever.     

Marina had trouble breast-feeding Gaby. The next day, Ron is feeding Gaby with the bottle and Gaby was very cooperative. Gaby was enjoying the food and was making various sounds as she was eating her formula. I remember I was very nervous in the beginning every time I had to pick Gaby; I had to make sure I support her head. Eventually, I got used to it. It is time to go home, I brought a shopping cart so I could take everything with us to the car in one trip. Marina was very proud of Gaby and everyone we saw said that Gaby was beautiful. We arrived home, and Ron was not sure where to put Gaby. Ron felt a little unusual when they arrived home. A couple of days ago, he left to the house without a baby and now he returned home with an additional family member. The Senderov family grew to three members :-)

April 3 2001-May 19 2001 Gaby is getting a Spa treatment

Gaby is awake at midnight and does not want to go to sleep. Marina and Ron are continuing to navigate through the parenthood experience. Gaby is taking her first bath she is 15 days old. Gaby is not exactly thrilled with her first bath. We put Gaby for the first time in the swing rocker and she was falling asleep. Uncle Pinchas and aunt Erika came to visit Gaby for the first time and we had lunch together ( May 2, 2001). Ron is trying to make Gaby to burp after her meal. She was concentrating and tried to burp, she seems very serious. Gaby is smiling for the first time. Marina is giving Gaby her first massage; it is good to go to the Spa. 

May 26 2001-June 7 2001 Savta Larisa visits Gaby

Savta Larisa has arrived and is very excited to see her first granddaughter. Lena &  Jenya Fukshansky, a very close old friend of Larisa form St. Petersburg Russia, came to visit. She currently lives in Mountain View, CA. Gaby is now exposed to the Russian language compliments of Savta Larisa. Savta Larisa insisted on changing Gaby although she probably did not this for probably at least 20 years. She was doing a great job except she forgot one very tiny detail. She took all of the cloths and cleaned Gaby and put on the new clothes. A couple of minutes later, she came to us complaining that Gaby has made the new outfit wet! How could Gaby do that? I just changed her! Guess what? Savta Larisa was not aware of the fact that you have to put a new diaper before you put on the clean outfit. Savta Larisa is very proud of Gaby, and feeds her. Gaby is listening to some more hardcore Russian language. In the meantime Gaby is gaining weight and face is very round. Savta Larisa has cooked many meals for us and was helping Marina.
